Q. Is there any news or someone to talk to about course selection or some way to find out about textbooks for the course for preparation purposes?

On the first day of your class, you will get a course outline listing the course materials or textbooks you will need for your course.  However, for some full-time programs, you may also get a book list at Orientation. Details on your Academic Orientation will be available a few weeks before classes begin. You may be interested in finding more information on George Brown Academic Centres and Schools and Programs. 

You can also conduct a Course Outline Search to find course outlines for a specific program. Textbooks are listed under the Learning Resources section of the course outline.
