Can I link to the electronic journal articles in the GBC database?

Yes, you are free to create a direct link yourself or you may contact your liaison librarian who can help link to the content available in the library databases.

Linking to items in library databases using a persistent link is a copyright friendly, legal alternative to scanning material under copyright or sharing a PDF version with your students, which mayrequire permission from the copyright holder. Please feel free to check the library resources, using “Search Everything” first, to determine whether or not the content (articles, ebooks, etc) is available through the GBC LLC http://www.georgebrown.ca/llc/ as this is the best way to make resources available for online courses.
For content not provided through the library databases, copyright clearance will need to be considered please check the fair dealing guidelines to see if the materials can be scanned and uploaded, with proper citations, to Blackboard or your course’s learning management system.
